Fix an issue with Conical (Angular) Gradients in Adobe Illustrator

Conical (angular) gradients are a great feature to add to your designs, but there exists a small issue that is not visible in small sizes but it presents itself when you want to use your design in bigger sizes. This tutorial shows a workaround on how to quickly and effectively fix this issue.

0.32 -> Hi, this is kassymkulov,
1.92 -> and today I will show you how to fix an  issue that exists in conical gradients
8.48 -> Select your ellipse tool
12.4 -> Draw a circle
15.52 -> and give it a memorable size, I will be using 256
23.36 -> Give its stroke the same value
27.28 -> Change stroke's color to  gradient, I will be using sky
37.84 -> Change stroke type to align gradient to center
41.6 -> And this is how you get a conical  gradient also known as an angular gradient
48.08 -> The reason why I used the same value  for the stroke is because if you make it
52.24 -> bigger or smaller you will see a  small circle appearing at the center
57.12 -> That's not what we want
62.64 -> And here it is if you zoom in you will  see the issue that i am referring to
72.64 -> I tried different methods trying to fix it one  of them being rotation but it's not helping
86.96 -> So to fix this issue we will  be using the same technique
90.32 -> but we will just change the  shape from circle to square
95.84 -> Let's draw a square and give it the same size  with the same stroke size as the circle's
107.6 -> Change its stroke type
112.08 -> So the effect is exactly the same  only the shape right now is a square
117.04 -> So if you zoom in in the  center you will see that the
120.24 -> problem that was before in the  circle does not exist in the square
127.28 -> So I guess you know where i'm going with this I
129.2 -> will be using a clipping mask to  give this square a circular look
138.56 -> It actually doesn't matter what size  you will be using for the circle because
142.16 -> it will be a clipping mask but for the sake of  this tutorial i will be using a double size 512
154.4 -> Make sure that the circle is located  in front and apply a clipping mask
159.28 -> So this was a workaround method  to get rid of that strange
162.96 -> thing happening in the conical gradient's center
169.84 -> Hope you liked this tutorial to fix an issue  that I don't think many people know it exists
175.28 -> Thank you!
