7.616 -> Hi, I'm Mat
welcome to eSpares.
10.501 -> In this video, I'll be
showing you what to do
12.37 -> if your Hoover washing machine
is displaying the error code E16.
17.453 -> Now this error code indicates
that your washing machine
20.226 -> is not heating the water properly
inside the appliance.
24.28 -> Now this error code will usually show
at the end of a wash cycle.
29.035 -> Now this code means
30.253 -> that the heating element inside
has failed and it needs to be replaced.
34.971 -> Fortunately this is
a fairly easy fix.
37.981 -> Let's get started.
39.8 -> For this fix you'll need
a pair of water pump pliers
44.181 -> a seven mil socket
46.332 -> a 10 mil socket with a wrench
48.954 -> a pair of safety gloves just to protect you
from any sharp edges
53.347 -> and it's also a good idea
to use a towel
55.247 -> at the bottom of the machine
to catch any water.
58.664 -> Now safety first.
59.744 -> Always unplug an appliance
before carrying out any work.
64.774 -> To access the heating element
66.01 -> we need to remove
the back panel.
68.027 -> To do this we need to take off
these six screws
70.652 -> that hold it in place
using the seven mil socket.
83.933 -> Here we have
the heating element.
87.355 -> Now try to remove it by first
slackening off the 10 mil bolt
91.864 -> to the end of the thread
with your 10 mil nut runner.
95.484 -> Then take the connections
off the element.
115.85 -> I've just put a towel down
117.227 -> at the bottom of the machine
to catch any water
119.542 -> that may come out
from the element cavity.
122.455 -> Now grab your water pump pliers
125.764 -> get a hold of the earth tab
at the bottom
129.276 -> and then pull the element out.
134.077 -> If you find that the heating element
is stuck far within the machine
138.283 -> here's a top tip for you.
140.855 -> Try putting some boiling water
inside the drum
144.21 -> and then lean your machine back
onto a stable surface.
149.692 -> Now leave the machine for a few minutes
with the boiling water inside it.
153.6 -> Now this will soften
and loosen the seal.
156.864 -> Now upright your machine
once more.
159.732 -> Plug it in
put a drain cycle on
161.819 -> to take that water out.
163.733 -> Then unplug the machine
once more
166.202 -> and then try
and remove the element
168.052 -> you should find that it's a lot easier
to take out of the back of the machine.
173.257 -> Now that your old heating element
has been removed.
175.641 -> It's time to fit the new one.
178.306 -> Now we've put a link
in the description below
180.298 -> for brand new heating elements.
182.238 -> To find the correct one
for your machine
184.544 -> you're going to need
your make and model number.
187.265 -> Now if you're unsure of where
to find this information.
