7.64 -> Hi, I'm Mat from eSpares.
9.758 -> In this video, I'll show you what to do
11.52 -> if your Samsung ecobubble washing machine
14.457 -> is displaying the error code 5C or 5E.
18.983 -> Error codes usually appear on your washing machine's display
22.531 -> and indicate that there is a fault with your appliance.
26.12 -> This particular error code means that there is a water draining issue.
30.034 -> Here we will run through some checks
32.021 -> to help you find out what is causing the issue
34.253 -> and how to fix it.
36.242 -> Before carrying out any work
37.707 -> make sure your washing machine is turned off
40.369 -> and fully disconnected from the mains.
44.436 -> For this repair, you'll need to turn off the water supply to the machine
48.604 -> and disconnect the water inlet pipe as well.
51.62 -> The tools you'll need are a Phillips screwdriver
55.045 -> a pair of pliers and a large towel.
59.326 -> The first thing to check is the pump filter
62.098 -> which is the part of the machine
63.997 -> that catches debris during a wash cycle
66.226 -> such as coins, hair grips and screws.
69.147 -> If it becomes blocked
70.168 -> water will not be able to pass through and get to the pump.
73.807 -> Now there can be a lot of water stored down here in the machine
77.178 -> so I put a towel down to catch any.
79.635 -> But first what I'll do
81.72 -> is use the emergency drain hose
85.739 -> open that up and then pour that into a bucket
89.019 -> and that should take out most of the water.
91.801 -> You can then remove the filter to check
97.398 -> if there's any damage or blockage.
100.134 -> If it is damaged the filter will need to be replaced.
105.577 -> The next thing to check is the pump impeller
108.122 -> and you can see it at the back there.
110.525 -> To do this move the blade with your fingers to ensure that it moves freely.
114.763 -> If there is any debris blocking its movement
116.651 -> then remove the obstruction.
118.487 -> If the impeller has actually come away from the pump
121.438 -> then a new pump will need to be fitted.
125.293 -> The next thing to check is the drain hose.
127.348 -> Make sure there's no kinks  in the hose
130.12 -> stopping water from draining away from the machine.
133.339 -> If you've checked the hose the filter and the impeller
136.564 -> and they're all fine
137.903 -> it's likely to be a problem with the drain pump
140.764 -> and I'll show you how to fit a new one now.
144.36 -> To remove the faulty drain pump
145.84 -> I need to remove the bottom panel
147.541 -> by undoing the five screws that hold it in place.
150.978 -> Now I've lent the machine down onto its front.
153.67 -> If you're doing this on a hard floor
155.595 -> make sure you put a towel down to protect the door.
158.067 -> But also to collect any water
159.929 -> that may come out of the drain pump when it's removed.
163.641 -> Now I can use my Phillips screwdriver to remove the bottom panel.
175.511 -> With the bottom panel removed
177.522 -> here we can see the drain pump.
181.056 -> To remove the drain pump
182.392 -> simply take out the electrical connections
184.547 -> and undo the three screws using your Phillips screwdriver.
216.643 -> Before we begin
217.843 -> you're going to need to find a drain pump
220.004 -> suitable for your make and model of washing machine.
223.491 -> To do that you'll need to find the model number for your appliance.
227.086 -> You can see our video here.
229.514 -> Which tells you exactly how to find
231.338 -> the model number of your washing machine.
234.278 -> You can also find a link in the description below to find your drain pump.
239.615 -> You can now fit your new drain pump.
243.049 -> Before I fit it it's just worth mentioning
244.876 -> that make sure on your new pump
247.142 -> that this seal around the impeller here
250.347 -> comes with the new pump.
252.472 -> Sometimes it doesn't
253.732 -> so if it doesn't you're going to have to take it off the old one
255.843 -> and put it around the new one.
258.641 -> Now I can screw it into place and reconnect the electrical connections.
284.283 -> With the new drain pump in place.
286.929 -> Refit the bottom panel
289.761 -> using the five screws you removed earlier.
293.897 -> You can then put the machine back into its upright position
299.012 -> and do get help to do so if it's too heavy for you.
312.909 -> We hope this has helped
314.321 -> to sort your drainage problem on your washing machine
317.369 -> and the error code has now disappeared.
320.72 -> It's a good idea to give your washing machine a very thorough clean
324.923 -> and you can see our video here
