0.399 -> Jump in right into installing a Facebook pixel
on WordPress, and we're going to start in
4.21 -> WordPress.
5.21 -> Log into your dashboard, then click on Plugins,
Add New, and just search Facebook pixel.
11 -> By the way, if you plan to run ads for purchases,
you want to use a tool like WooCommerce or
15.37 -> cart flows and use their pixel plugin since
that's the way they integrate the Pi xcel
19.47 -> with the shopping cart.
20.47 -> I'll link to more info on that in the description.
22.67 -> Look for Pi xcel Your Site.
23.74 -> I find the free version of Pi xcel Your Site
is less buggy and has more features than Facebook's
28.289 -> official plugin.
29.55 -> Click Install Now, then click Activate.
32.14 -> Scroll down to the left side, you should see
Pi xcel Your Site slightly below Settings.
36.94 -> Click on that.
37.96 -> Then under your MetaPixel, click Click for
Settings.
41.42 -> We now need a Pi xcel ID and we're going to
head to Facebook to either create a new PiXL
45.73 -> or grab that pixel ID from an existing pixel.
48.41 -> Open a new window and we'll go back and forth
between WordPress and Facebook, so don't close
52.609 -> out of either.
53.609 -> Go to business.
54.629 -> Fb.
55.629 -> Com settings pixels.
59.949 -> If you need you want to set up an existing
pixel, you can just copy the ID right here.
63.51 -> You'll likely be creating a new pixel, go
to add, and then give it a name.
67.53 -> I would leave the website URL blank, then
go continue.
71.63 -> You can now copy the pixel ID from the URL.
74.02 -> It will be 16 numbers right after the text,
pixels.
77.99 -> Drag over those numbers and then click copy.
80.44 -> Go back to pixel your site on WordPress and
we can now just paste the pixel code in MetaPixel
85.579 -> ID.
86.579 -> Let's go all the way down toward the very
bottom and click Save Settings.
90.91 -> Go back to Facebook so we can send some test
traffic.
93.75 -> Choose Set Up Pixel Now.
97.61 -> Choose Add Code to Partner Integration.
100.2 -> Scroll down to find WordPress.
101.2 -> We already went through the steps to install
on WordPress.
103.67 -> Click Next twice.
104.79 -> We want to send test traffic.
106.969 -> Enter in your website URL and then click Send
test traffic.
110.47 -> It will open up your website and make sure
you have app blockers turned off.
114.729 -> Once the page loads, go back to Facebook.
117.36 -> It can take a few minutes for it to turn to
active.
120.119 -> If it's not turning active, make sure you
did select Save Settings and pixel your site.
124.369 -> If you're still having issues, I'll have a
video down below.
126.7 -> Once it's active, you can now close out of
this box.
129.39 -> The next thing you'll need to do for your
pixel to track correctly is set up Conversion
132.73 -> API, which gives it way more data.
134.89 -> Make sure your pixel is selected, then do
Open an Events Manager.
138.72 -> Go to Settings, scroll down and under Conversion
API, right under Setup Manually, you should
144.06 -> see Generate Access Token.
146.45 -> Click on that and it will give you a code
to use on pixel your site.
150.31 -> Copy that code.
153.25 -> Go back to pixel your site on WordPress.
154.94 -> Click on the button, click for settings under
Facebook.
157.46 -> By default, enable Conversion API and enable
advanced matching should be turned on, but
162.27 -> double check they're both blue and turned
on.
165.23 -> Paste the Conversion API token under Conversion
API and you want to scroll all the way down
170.15 -> and click Save Settings.
171.75 -> If you're planning on running conversion ads
aimed at collecting some of these events,
175.37 -> you have three required steps remaining.
177.76 -> But if you aren't running conversion ads,
you're all set.
180.47 -> Go back to Events Manager and head to Overview.
183.25 -> Scroll down and to the left, click Add Events
from the pixel.
187.62 -> Open Event Setup Tool.
188.9 -> In this example, I'll be setting up Lead,
but this would apply to these other events
192.159 -> as well.
193.159 -> For the website URL, I'm going to recommend
you punch in the URL that people reach after
196.56 -> they take whatever action you're trying to
track.
198.67 -> So on my website, I'm tracking a lead.
200.97 -> And rather than having to track the button
click on the sign up page, which can lead
204.48 -> to inaccurate tracking if people click multiple
times, I want to find the page people land
208.89 -> on after they become a lead.
210.81 -> I quickly build this landing page and this
is the link I'll copy.
214.379 -> Now, this is key.
215.379 -> Once they hit this page, it will track them
as a lead.
217.84 -> I'll go back to Facebook to paste the link
and then click.
220.55 -> It will open up the page and you should see
this event set up to appear.
224.25 -> If it isn't appearing, turn off the ad blocker
and I'll do track the URL.
228.4 -> I'll click select an event.
229.79 -> I'll choose lead.
231.17 -> Make sure the URL that's showing here is the
URL for the page.
235.48 -> You can choose don't include value under value.
237.81 -> Click confirm.
239.67 -> Double check your work and make sure the event
and URL are correct, then click finish set
243.61 -> up.
244.61 -> And we want to refresh this page a few times,
making sure we don't have ad blocker turned
248.819 -> on.
249.819 -> I'll go back to Facebook Event Manager to
make sure it's tracking the events.
252.6 -> You can close out of this set up events.
255.209 -> And next, you'll select test events toward
the top.
257.97 -> Make sure you have the page you just set up
in the URL, then click open website.
261.459 -> It will take you to that page.
263.03 -> Then go back to events manager and you want
to see the event you just set up being tracked.
267.76 -> Now for me, it took 20 minutes for it to start
tracking.
270.28 -> Since it could take time, if you're still
not seeing it, go to the next step and you
273.59 -> can go back to test events later.
275.24 -> If I had other URLs to track, I'd set those
up now.
277.74 -> Or if there are multiple pages people would
land on, if they became a lead, I would also
281.76 -> set it up for those pages.
283.35 -> Facebook now requires that you verify your
domain and set up aggregated events.
287.43 -> Go back to Overview, then scroll down to aggregated
event measurement.
291.15 -> Click Configure Web Events.
293.4 -> Find your domain, then click Verify Domain.
296.06 -> Then click Verify Domain again.
298.259 -> Double check that the right domain is selected.
300.35 -> Then click here to copy this meta tag.
303.28 -> Go back to Pixel Your Site, paste that code
here under Verify Domain.
307.62 -> Then scroll all the way down again and click
Save Settings.
310.8 -> If you have a security plug in, it's possible
you'll need to briefly disable that.
314.759 -> Now go back to Facebook and click Verify Domain.
317.27 -> It should switch to verified.
318.52 -> If it doesn't do it right away, give it some
time and then try it again.
326.344 -> from some of the top advertisers in the world.
328.904 -> This is the cheat sheet for getting the best
results possible, so watch that now.
