0.66 -> Kevin: Hey guys, it's Kevin.
1.86 -> Today we still keep going on fixing scanners and the
5.8 -> error for today is thousand 17.
9.64 -> And here's Abby again.
12.7 -> We work in the lab, so there will be probably some noises in the background.
19.36 -> Abby: Hey guys, it's Abby here.
20.95 -> So I'm gonna be teaching you how to fix a 1 0 0 0 17 error,
25.15 -> which was a scanner error.
26.62 -> As you saw in the beginning when I opened up the scanner, you could
29.62 -> see that the lamp was off track.
32.11 -> So we're gonna go ahead and fix that.
33.73 -> Take the three screws off of this side cover, and then you'll see
37.27 -> there's these two tabs on the.
39.305 -> My side cover got stuck a little bit and I'll show you why.
42.07 -> There's a little helpful tip.
43.535 -> This one had a little white plug on the back here that if you needed to plug
48.675 -> a cable in or anything, but if yours has that, make sure you remove that
52.035 -> little white plug before right here.
54.345 -> That's my little helpful tip.
55.815 -> Otherwise, your side piece will get stuck on there and it's hard to remove.
59.835 -> Once that's off, go ahead and unplug the white cable with the yellow cap.
65.595 -> If there's a piece of tape holding it there, just pull off that piece
68.745 -> of tape and stick it to the side.
71.415 -> Once you have your two FFC cables and that white cable disconnected, go
76.095 -> ahead and twist out this blue hinge.
79.495 -> Now we're gonna remove the scanner.
81.305 -> It was easier for me to just move out that duplex real quick so when you push
85.895 -> to the side, the scanner, it releases easier and doesn't get caught up.
89.795 -> Now that our scanner's off, go ahead and flip it on its back
92.705 -> and there's gonna be four screws that you just need to take out.
95.795 -> Once we did that, I basically just pride open a little bit the scanner.
100.865 -> And once I did that, I was able, Basically slipped my hand in there.
105.565 -> Once I slipped my hand in there I grabbed onto the lamp and tried
109.625 -> to line it back up onto the track.
112.445 -> As you would see it go back and forth when it scans images or papers or
116.315 -> anything that you put onto there.
117.965 -> So I then took a little tool and I.
121.87 -> Used it to slide along the edge there, as you see, and I helped pride open the
126.61 -> side of the scanner a little bit more.
128.949 -> Then I used my tool to try and push down that ffc into the little.
134.48 -> I don't know you a ditch.
135.71 -> It's not really a ditch, but I guess it's what we call it the ditch
138.4 -> that the, that FFC cable lays in.
140.81 -> So as you can see, I now open it back up again and am just using my finger
146.22 -> to push FFC cable back down into that.
149.395 -> Ditch.
149.935 -> So yeah.
151.795 -> All right.
152.155 -> So now that I have it back I'm gonna go ahead and basically just
156.625 -> make sure it looks correct and then press down on the scanner back
160.615 -> where I had pride it open before.
163.105 -> So go ahead, flip it over and take the four screws that you
166.195 -> had and screw them back into.
170.34 -> And then we're gonna go ahead and put it back into the printer.
172.83 -> We'll follow our steps back.
173.91 -> But before you do that, give it a quick look.
176.08 -> Carefully turn it back over.
177.79 -> Make sure that your lamp is still in place, that it hasn't fallen back off
181.965 -> track cuz there's no use in putting it back together just for your.
186.385 -> Lamped to have fallen back outta place.
188.455 -> So basically we're gonna do what we did backwards and put our scanner
194.005 -> back onto the hinges and put that blue hinge back into place.
198.305 -> Put our cables back in and our FFC cable.
201.875 -> Plug that yellow cap back in with the white cable video cap and put our
206.525 -> side cover back on with our screws.
208.955 -> And then I'm gonna go ahead and plug this.
211.4 -> And turn it on.
212.81 -> And you can see you're gonna look for a little green light
214.85 -> with your lamp to come on.
216.86 -> And we see that green light, so that's good.
218.965 -> And we'll watch it and see if it goes back and forth.
221.27 -> I was really happy this was the first time I fixed one of these.
224.32 -> And so now you guys know how to fix it too.
226.6 -> So this is really good.
227.68 -> Let it run for a little pitches to see if any kind of scanner error
230.62 -> would pop up and I didn't get one.
232.21 -> So happy printing everyone.
233.68 -> We fixed it.
236.515 -> Okay, I hope you enjoy this video.
238.465 -> Visit us at www.bchtechnologies.com or locally at Greensboro
245.335 -> Kevin08: North Carolina.
246.265 -> Cheers.
