Playing on modded servers with your friends is a fun way to enjoy a game, but by necessity a lot will require the same mods and versions on the launcher and the server. In some cases, the mod list might not match, which will generate the ‘mismatched mod channel’ error. There are a few possible reasons, including missing mods, mismatched mod versions and even the incorrect mod version being common examples. At Apex Hosting, we want our players to enjoy their server with minimal stress, so we’ve created a simple guide to show you how to fix the mismatched mod channels error.

are pretty fun to play on,
27.193 -> but they require the same mods
and the same versions
30.263 -> of the launcher and the server.
32.498 -> And if the mod list doesn't
match in some cases
35.534 -> it could result in a mismatched
mod channel
38.137 -> which may be missing
mods mismatch in mod versions.
42.408 -> Or you might just have
43.91 -> the wrong mod pack version
installed that caused the issue,
47.079 -> that causes your
server to not work properly.
52.452 -> To confirm
is pretty straightforward.
54.353 -> It'll tell you the problem
in-game
56.388 -> when attempting
to join that server.
59.292 -> And as you can see, it just says
Mismatched Mod Channel list.
63.796 -> If you don't have
an active program like Filezilla
65.898 -> or Cyber Duck,
67.9 -> you can review all the
information about FTB programs
70.77 -> based on a guide we made about
FTB programs right here.
74.774 -> That,
of course, is going to be linked
76.109 -> in a description of this video.
77.443 -> But once you have an FTP program
installed,
80.313 -> go ahead and jump into your Apex
Server panel.
83.682 -> And from here,
make sure to stop your server
86.452 -> and once your server is fully
stopped in offline.
90.323 -> Then you can click on the FTP
file access area, which
93.226 -> is to the left of the panel.
95.527 -> Then copy your information
displayed on the page.
98.464 -> Host to host user to user
101.468 -> port to port
104.437 -> and then type in your password.
107.773 -> Make sure
to connect to your server
110.276 -> and then find your server files
on wherever they are.
113.979 -> On your program
and find your mods folder.
118.183 -> Then drag and drop your mods
folder onto your desktop
122.421 -> and wait for the download
to fully finish.
126.325 -> Once you've downloaded your mods
folder, go ahead and open up
129.295 -> this folder and navigate
130.53 -> to your local mods
folder on your computer.
134.767 -> You can do this
135.968 -> by opening up Minecraft
and finding your install
139.105 -> and clicking on your install
and the little folder icon
142.708 -> and then open up the folder
with your mods folder here.
147.18 -> Then just click and drag
the mods folder
149.849 -> that we downloaded earlier
to the other side.
153.052 -> If it asks you to replace
all the files,
154.821 -> make sure that you do
because that's the intended goal
158.724 -> and then you can start
up Minecraft with those mods.
161.427 -> If done correctly,
your game should be able to load
163.863 -> without any issues
and at that point
166.065 -> you should be able to join
the modded server successfully.
171.704 -> If you're unsure,
you have this issue.
173.873 -> There's two really easy ways
to confirm you have a mismatched
177.91 -> mod channel list.
179.312 -> The first is
180.546 -> a classic disconnect message,
which doesn't innately
183.149 -> say anything.
184.517 -> However, the console will show
the actual issue in detail.
188.053 -> On your main panel page.
189.288 -> You can just click
on your console to view
191.623 -> at least
when somebody is joining.
194.493 -> Any errors that may pop up
when they try to join,
197.897 -> such as a mismatched
mod channel list.
201.367 -> On the other hand,
if you suspect that the mods are
204.103 -> all messed up on the server
side, it's a super easy fix
207.64 -> and you're going to start off
208.608 -> by hopping on your main server
panel
210.876 -> and clicking on stop until
your server is fully offline.
214.68 -> And once your server is offline,
click on FTP file
217.183 -> access log
in with all of your information.
220.586 -> And once you're logged
in, make sure to check the box
223.355 -> next to the jar and the
mod folder just like this.
227.994 -> Then click on
Delete at the top of the page.
231.063 -> Proceed to submit
and wait for the done.
234.133 -> And once the process
has fully completed
237.336 -> and both of the folders
are deleted
239.772 -> and have returned an okay
message,
241.674 -> then you can
242.841 -> return to your Apex Server panel
by clicking on
245.01 -> the name of your server
at the top of the page.
249.148 -> And then start or restart
your server to get it up
251.417 -> and running.
252.851 -> This is going to update your mod
package to the latest version,
256.455 -> and now you can head
257.69 -> back to your launcher
that uses the mod pack
260.726 -> wherever you have
the Mod Pack installed.
262.662 -> Make sure to fully uninstall it
264.73 -> on your computer
and reinstall it
266.465 -> with the newest version Once
it's reinstalled,
269.401 -> you should be able to join
the server.
271.97 -> If done successfully,
273.439 -> you're now going to be
able to play on your server
278.177 -> to keep your
server running the best it can.
280.58 -> You're always going to want
to make sure
282.214 -> you run the most updated
version of mod and mod packs
286.419 -> on your server and on the device
you hop onto the server with.
290.79 -> From Curse Forge to Technic,
you're going to have
293.392 -> to make sure that all the packs
you play on or play
296.796 -> with are installed correctly
to play on an Apex server.
300.733 -> Whale folks, that's
all we've got for you today.
302.568 -> And as always,
we hope you have lots of fun.
